Privacy policy

This policy explains what Pace Plumbing does with the personal information you give us through this website, and the choices you have. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who we are

The website is run by Donavan Holmes Pace Plumbing (Pty) Ltd(“Pace Plumbing”, “we”), 63 Capri Drive, Capri Village, 7975. We are the responsible party for your information. Our information officer is the business itself, and you can reach them at info@paceplumbing.co.za or 083 887 4729.

What we collect when you request a callback

The callback form asks for your name, email address and phone number, and optionally your address, a preferred date and time, and a description of the problem. We use these details only to contact you, quote for the work and book it in. You asked us to get in touch, and that is our reason for processing them.

We don’t use enquiry details for marketing, we don’t add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or share them with anyone outside the providers listed below.

Where your enquiry goes

When you send the form, the website emails your details to our office inbox using an email delivery service. The website itself doesn’t save the enquiry in a database. If you go ahead with work, your contact details and job details are added to our job and invoicing system so we can schedule the job, issue quotes and invoices, and keep the records the law requires.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, but only if you click Accept on the cookie notice. Until you do, no analytics code loads and no analytics cookies are set. If you decline, nothing else on the site changes.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies.

• _ga, which tells visits apart, kept for up to two years.
• _ga_QWWG9YEV5H, which keeps track of your current session, kept for up to two years.

Google then receives the pages you view, roughly where you are (city level), your device and browser type, how you reached the site, and whether you sent the callback form or tapped our phone number or email address. It never receives what you typed into the form.

We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask on every visit. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, which removes the analytics cookies and asks you again.

The only other cookies on this domain are login cookies for our own staff when they sign in to the office system. Visitors to the public site don’t receive them.

Who processes your information for us

We use a small number of service providers (“operators” in POPIA terms). Each handles your information only on our instructions and under its own data protection terms.

• Vercel hosts the website.
• Resend delivers the enquiry email to our inbox.
• Neon hosts the database behind our job and invoicing system.
• Google provides Google Analytics, and only if you accept cookies.

Sending information outside South Africa

These providers store data on servers in the United States. POPIA allows this when the recipient is bound by terms that give your information protection substantially similar to POPIA’s. We rely on each provider’s data processing agreement for that protection.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted from our inbox within 24 months.
• If you become a customer, we keep your quotes, invoices and job records for five years, because tax law requires it.
• The email delivery service keeps its own delivery log for about 30 days.
• Google Analytics keeps analytics data for the period set in our account, never more than 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your cookie consent. Email info@paceplumbing.co.za. We’ll confirm the request comes from you by replying to the contact details we hold, and we’ll respond within 30 days. Records we must keep by law, such as invoices, can’t be deleted early, and we’ll tell you if that applies.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over HTTPS, and only signed-in Pace Plumbing staff can reach our office system. If your information is ever accessed by someone who shouldn’t have it, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as soon as reasonably possible.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
